Festive August ends

Festive August in Malaysia ends with ' Merdeka ' !

31 August is our Independence Day , and it is the 54th anniversary this year. For the past 8 - 10 years, we have been celebrating it in the temple . So is this year.


We will raise the National flag, sing National Anthem, and prayer of blessing to the Nation for a better future. Finally we will invite all those born in the month of August to cut a Merdeka Cake together .

A celebration of music

A chance to attend a night of music at Sunway University .

It was a charity recital presented by the Perak Society of Performing Arts International Ensemble. The ensemble consists of violins, viola, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet , oboe & piano .
The first piece was the title performance of Butterfly lovers , by a solo violin with the ensemble.
The second part of performance that night was Tenor with ensemble. He presented three pieces before taking a break.
Next , the quintet ensemble presented a piece accompanied by the pianist.
The Tenor came back on stage to perform three more pieces before the audience called for an encore.
The closure was performed by the sunway's student ensemble together with the International ensemble .
It was a night of music, not too bad a performance .

Happy Wesak

It's Wesak again, the thrice sacred day for the Buddhists worldwide. The weather was beautifully sunny in the morning .

When the Anthem of Unity was played, the Buddhist Flag was flying high with the Jalur Gemilang .

Devotees pay respect to the sacred Bodhi tree .....

or lighting oil lamps to remind us the light of Wisdom that dispels darkness....

It was a beautiful Wesak.
Let us make aspiration on this auspicious day that the world is peaceful . May all beings be well and happy always.

May the sasana continues .......

and may we attain nibbana eventually.
